The 2011 Scolnick Prize has been awarded to Bruce McEwen of The Rockefeller University for his contributions to understanding how hormones affect the brain. The McGovern Institute will award the prize to Dr. McEwen on September 26, 2011.

Following the presentation of the prize, Dr. McEwen will deliver a public lecture entitled "Sex, Stress and the Brain: hormone actions above the hypothalamus via novel mechanisms."
